| Last year this time (please forgive me I'm new at this gardening stuff) I started my sunflowers indoors. They did grow all summer, but the stalk were so flimsy that I needed sticks to hold them up or the wind would blow them down. They were much thinner than a pencil. What did I do wrong? Should I have started them inside or outside? What can you suggest I do this year to have better sunflowers? |

| I'd start them outside, they don't really like to be transplanted, they tend to sulk.
Mine self-seed themselves every year and do great. |

| So do I start them as soon as the frost is out of the ground? (I warned you I was new to this) I feel so silly asking these questions, I'm sure many eyes are rolling right now because of me |

| No gardening question is silly to us here at BS. Welcome by the way.
Yes, start them when the frost is out of the ground and they should do fine. |
