Pros: Very sturdy plants. Repeat bloomer if deadheaded. Reseeds easily. Tolerant of mediocre soil/moisture conditions.

Cons: some don't care for its fragrance & some positively hate it. I like it, personally.

I like the historical background of Calendula, too.  It was common in ancient Roman times, for its cheerful blooms as well its medicinal value.  I like Calendula (or Pot Marigold) MUCH better than Tagetes!

A lovely cheerful plant that springs up every year from seed dropped from the numerous blooms. A very easy plant to grow and care for. Will grow in poor soil and is drought tolerant.
