With our very cold start to winter this year, I'm sure our local birds would much appreciate something similar in my yard, and I already have huge flocks of sparrows comming every day and lots of mourning doves as well. It seems they've become so hungry this year , that unlike in years past, when they'd wait a distance away, while I put out new food, they come right down to within a few feet of me , while I'm still putting the food out. I guess it's a case of "natural caution" being over taken by hunger in that case. They must really be struggling this winter!!! I am putting out extra food already however!!

Great looking log, is that a feeder? I figured something must entice those birds to go in those holes.

i think he packed it with suet or a mix of some sort dony. it is a cool thing tho. maybe i can get my dh to make me one. -_-
