View Full Version : Good Will Toward Man?

This time of year
We always seem
To scurry to and fro;
Shopping, movies
And parties, too,
We're always on the go!

We fuss and cuss
Our fellow man,
And tempers often flare,
While searching for
That special gift
To show how much we care!

We sing sweet songs
Of peace and joy,
Good will to men on earth;
If we would practice
What we sing,
The words would have more worth!

You got that right Harley, and once again congratulations on an excellent poem!
I have to say , philosophically speaking etc. , it seems Chistmas is such a time of heightened expectations, that for many of us , we do tend to overdo everything at Christmas time, but cutting back on the expectations can be very difficult. I guess without all the Chistmas spending according to economists, the economy might even go into a severe tailspin, but I do think it wouldnt' hurt most of us to try cutting back a bit!! I can remember years back, when I'd be running around like mad shopping, delivering gifts, going to parties etc. etc. and putting in some very difficult days at work that was always heaviest at Christmas time, often feeling stressed out or depressed if something didn't go right, and these days are much quieter, though a bit subdued. Perhaps a move on my part too far in the opposite direction!!
