Had the bushtits around today and managed a few shote. This is a pair showing the male (L) and the female?.

Oh my! They are so sweet! How can you tell the male from the female? They look like twins, to me!! :wub:

Hi DandyLioness. You have to look at their eyes, the females are yellow.

Yikes! I was going to mention the eye colour but had no idea that it was a factor in determining males from females! Thanks for educating me! :lol:

We don't have those here , but they're sure cute little birds. I see our usual slate colored juncos are back however, and I still get a kick out of watching their little "kicks" as they dig for or uncover seeds in the snow etc. It's almost like they make a little hop and kick at the same time and it's sort of comical to watch.
