DS has just returned from a holiday in Borneo. I pinched some pictures he took of the local flora. which I thought you might enjoy. Any names would be interesting.

The first one is a rafflesia. It's going over a bit.
The second an orchid (a paph. possibly?)
The third is part of the hotel garden.
The fourth I believe is Nepenthes Maxima
I haven't a clue what 5 & 6 are.

#5 is a heliconia ummmm lobster claw or parrot beak?) and #6 appears to be a crinum/spider lily (lucky to have one of THOSE myself!) !!!!!!!!

I believe the white flower in the last picture is most likely a species of "basket flower" , peruvian daffodil, ismene , or Hymenocallis,. All the previous are possible names for the same genera of plants, but that particular species I couldn't name. It could be one I saw pictured called , Hymenocallis caroliniana. Or common spider lily.

Wow, they are all gorgeous. I love all the unique and odd plants, they add so much caracter!
