Its the shadows cast by a fancy glass lampshade. The light bulb itself is overexposed to show detail in the shadows.

I love saying this word, but PSYCHEDELIC!!!!! I also love those rare days of mostly overcast conditions , when you can see those "sunrays" comming through cracks in the clouds!!
