Don't you listen to them Dandy, that would be called a dumping round here.

We got less than an inch overnight , but it isn't our first snow of the season, nor will it be our last unfortunately. In fact it's snowing right now, and there's no telling how much we'll get here, though there's not much forcast. That could turn into several feet sometimes, even when the weathermen are forcasting six inches or so sometimes, if we happen to get our "lake effect" crank up. Even that's very unpredictable , with having to have exactly the right wind direction, low pressure, etc. etc. and I've never been able to predict it , even after all these years. On the other hand I can often see on the clearest days here, where upper winds are blowing towards Canada to the east of us, that they have a solid bank of dark clouds on the other side of the lake and then I know they're really taking a dumping of snow there, even when it's completely clear on this side of the lake. Most odd!!!

  That`s called barely a skiff round these parts Dandy. We have maybe 3 inches right now and we would have had more but some of it melted away already.

I believe you, Sneezy. :D As you can tell from the new bike photo taken today we have plenty and it keeps coming down. I even was lucky enough to catch some falling snowflakes in one of my photos. Might use it for our Christmas card.

Aren't those snow flakes amazing , since it seems no two out of the trillions that come down are exactly alike, but it's a rare snow, when you can actually see the individual "separate" flakes , since they often stick together and partially melt before hitting a cold surface, or are broken into a fine powder by upper level winds. The weather conditions have to be just right to see the flakes. Reminds me of something many years back, when we'd make those "crystal" gardens using various types and colors of mixed salts, but I can't the exact procedure for making those??? Any of our older members remember those crystal "thingies". I'm just guessing they were called gardens even, since that may have been over forty years ago, that we did those!!
