It rained really hard last night and this morning and the wind blew a gale, then the sun came out.

I went into town about half a mile away and found that there had been a hail storm. It was six inches deep in places, and was still there at 5 o'clock this evening despite the heavy rain that followed.

All day long we had really hard showers, my ponds overflowed. Roads were closed due to flooding around the town centre.

What a day!

I hate to see such terrible weather for England , but lately some news reports in the U.S. are predicting the "possibility" of some long term changes in the flow of the Gulf Stream , which could lead to much colder weather for England and Western Europe in general , and that would be a nightmare. Sorry Rich and Grindle, but you know those weather people can be real "doomsayers" sometimes , who hopefully will be proven wrong. It seems so strange that after England and Western Europe suffered some of the worst heat waves ever, a year ago last summer, that the weather could turn around in a few years and provide such cold, but that's where the predictions prove to be very unpredictable.

 Wow sounds like you guys have had the drenching rains like we had here in central Pa. last week. Our road in front of our house was flooded and the water was runnin down the road like a creek. After all the diggin and destroyin they did in my back yard, puttin that new drainage system in, there better never be any more floodin back there!!!!!!!
