This was just a try out. I took this picture of a jay and then cropped it to show what this small part would come out like. The foot shot is still nearly 400 kb in my file. What do you think? Wow. I could only see part of the jay, its a bit big I think so I will go back to the drawing board.

OK, I'll try again. I have resized the image so it should be a lot smaller now. I had put it in as an http image.

Hi boo. I was about 10 feet away, maybe a little less. I took it off the deck so I was nearly as high as the jay. The pic of the Jay is 2.06 mb. The part I cropped is still pretty high at 398 kb.

Hi digiflower. I bought a minolta earlier this year, it has a 12 x's zoom but is only a little over 4 mega pixals. I tool all the insect photos in the garden with it, I still really like it but this new 9 megapixals should allow a lot of cropping.

Hi DandyLioness. I'm in trouble though as I have bought three cameras in the the last 18 months and while away in Sept. bought a $400 US, 3 times t.con for the olympus 750, which I haven't had on the camera yet. I'm now selling the olympus and will just have to forget about the t.con. I already had a 1.7 t.con for it. What a waste.

I'm wanting very badly to get a picture of my returning Red Bellied Woodpecker, but since it's sort of shy, I'd have to use the zoom for a good picture and through the windows from indoors, and it's hard to find a good "clear" window to take a shot from. I'd sure love a good picture of it however, and by the time I grab the camera and walk outdoors he's usually gone. Oh well, that's bird or wildlife photography for you, though having feeders close by is a real help!! And I'm still very envious of having those Stellar Jays around though our Bluejays are very pretty. I guess I should try for a good closeup of those!!
