I have it growing. I took home the few that matched the potato vine color. I don' know why it's still not green. They were all growing in the same light exposure etc. I rooted them in water first.
Here's them with a pink Petunia.
People relly are attracted to this plant...my intitial reaction has worn off. I also have a dark, almost black leaved on that get's white little straw like ball flowers.

It is beautiful. I googled it and wanted to ask if you use it as an annual or how you take care of it over the winter?

mla I used it as an annual. It is extremely striking. Last year was the first year I've seen it and I did not try to bring it inside, as I have very very low light indoors. Next season I am going to see if any other colors are available.

dandy, its possible your pic is alternanthera. There are many different foliage variations. If you google image search of alternanthera you'll see what I mean.

I put this in my front garden last yard, thinking it would be a nice focal point for the summer. Now I can't get rid of it - it has popped up all over my yard. Given the right conditions, (which it apparently has in my yard), it gets pretty invasive. Now they tell me!
