Hi Cheryl. It took a bit of doing getting them together. I think I managed to get the tree about the same size so that the birds would be more or less their own size.

Very cool!
They look lie our Greater spotted and lesser spotted, the lesser being about the size of a sparrow(chickadee), and the larger that of a starling.

Wow , what a great picture and thankyou so much. I'll hopefully file those away in my ever increasing dictionary of birds. I see with our sudden brutal temperatures and some snow, the birds are comming to my feeder in big flocks today. Time to start looking for some suet as well, though keeping the squirrels from eating it in even a proper suet holder has proven difficult. Our local gray squirrels have learned how to stick their teeth through the wires to scrape off bits of suet , so they still can eat an entire block in one or two days, the little devils!!

Hi MrSeedy. Thought that this would be of interest to you as we had discussed the differance in their size. Now you can see how much it is.

yep i made it. Thanks for that tip. Its definitely a downy I see at my feeder. although I think my problem i.ding the two was size is relative. If you dont have the other bird to compare it to its kind of hard to tell from a distance what you have. They are great pictures though thanks.
