I'm getting a new camera. Fuji S9000 or as it is known in the UK S9500. Its just out and is 9 mega whats its. I have asked my son to get it for me in Calgary where they have no sales tax so it saves me $60. He's coming out here for Christmas so I will get it then. Macro is 1 cm, you can't get closer to bugs than that. Its a 28 mm wide angle and zooms to 300. Not as big a zoom as the camera I bought earlier, 420mm and a great camera but hasn't the megapixels that this Fuji has.

Reading the reviews about it and seeing the photos and what it does, sounds like its about the best there is, other that the very, very expensive SLR etc. I want to do more with the insects. Having a smaller mega what have you, by the time you crop the image, even when getting as close as I did, and you can't get closer, the image hasn't the resolutions that are required for publication. I'm hoping this one will solve that problem. I've been talking to the publisher of the wildflower books and he's interested in an insect one. If we go ahead with that, it will probably take a couple of years before it published. I'll have to start all over again with the insects.

oh luckyyou Kildale  we've done the same too, buy in Alberta to save on the taxes, like a computer.
with a huge megapixel like that, you should be able to crop a lot and still have a great pic.

I guess it's hard to improve what you have already done, I think the photos have been super. Wow 9 megapixels sound great. My little old sony has 2.

Hi erdine. I got mine from Alberta too. The cropping of the insects pics is what I want the bigger megapixels for. Nine is the biggest I have heard about, If you look at the reviews in google everthing sounds good.

Hi donybee. Yes I'm looking for great things in the future. A friend gave me a real nice camera a month ago, a 2002 Pentax. A big digital camera but only a 2 so I don't think I will ever use it. I also have an Olympus 750 ultra zoom, great close ups but only 4 MP.
