I saw this interesting stuff & the marker said corn grass. I've been searching on the net but its not corngrass and I'm unable to find any other corn grass.
Anybody know what it is? I think it's cool & am wondering if it's a perennial or annual?

I'm thinking from the size of the clump it must be an established perennial.

I thought so too. I imagined if I have a larger yard  it would look great in a grass area along with a few dwarf conifers.
I won't go into the rest of my daydream because it gets pretty steamy involving purple foliage.
I hope someone knows what it is.

Thats really beautiful   I don't think its it though because this stuff was taller than me.
I've been googling and found this info on NC State University site but its the ONLY info I've found. Not sure if its the same but its close..

i found that site too. but didn't think it was it since the leaves were shorter and much more colorful. the grasses in the Phalaris arundinacea were the closest i found. -_-

I was going to say a "form" of giant Arundo grass as well, though I've not seen that one before. I think most of the arundo grasses are quite hardy, and I thought maybe even to zone 5??
