I found an interesting recipe on the internet today for turnip, carrot and garlic soup so I'll be trying it this week and will let you know how it turns out.
Doesn't that sound delicious? Hey, wait a minute, why are all of you reaching for the puking smilie face?

I'm not  Let us know if its any good. I'm making a bean soup today. I need something for lunches that will keep me warm. I figure from now on, I'll make a different batch of soup at least every week.

Boo that's a great idea to make a soup a week. We love main dish soups here in this house and eat them often for supper.
Last night we had artichokes cooked in our steamer and the juice that dripped down into the steamer water turned it bright green. I couldn't bear to pour it down the sink so have saved it in a jar in the fridge for my next batch of soup. It should make for an interesting colour depending on what I mix it with.

Mary,
I hope you enjoy it. For my part, all three are best as they were served before man discovered fire....

I truly LOVE a good soup. I've worked in many restaurants and got several recipes for some soups that I've really enjoyed! The golf course where I work now - also has a couple of really talented chef's that make YUMMMY soups!

I love artichokes  I haven't had any for months. Such little buggers to eat. Do eat them with a butter sauce?
This week is the bean soup & next will be thai spinach. Now that is some wild stuff

Oh yes, butter sauce is a must for eating artichokes. In fact, Jim put SO MUCH garlic in the butter sauce it was all we could taste or smell until we went to bed. I tried washing it away with peppermint tea and oatmeal cookies later but even they tasted like garlic. Lol. Oh well, it's very good for your health isn't it?

Mary I heard if you eat fresh parsley it helps with the garlic :D :D

Oh I never thought of that. Actually in ancient times people used to chew parsley for their breath. We still have some in the garden too, next time I'll have to bring some in before we eat all that garlic.

We don't have a store near us that has artichokes or turnips so I guess I'll stick to chilli and chicken noodle. If I was up gusesgrammy's way I'd have New England Clam Chowder.
