OMGoodness! Today's been insane. It's been raining buckets! I went out to get something from the garden shed and then it HAILED like mad! I had to wait in the shed until it subsided...

WOW! Everything is so soggy out there. I'm just posting jokes on BS now. :P

So that explains why you have so much time on your hands. You can send some of that rain my way. We haven't had any in about 3 months.

If we hadn't received any rain in three months I'd be asking for some, but considering the fact that we did have a recent rain storm, though it's been very dry, I might think I'll need it next summer, so could you please bottle it up in 1,000 gal. bottles and save it for shipment to my location next spring or summer.
Just kidding, and I only wish that was possible, though I guess if I could afford the shipping for bottled water, I could at least double my use of our ever more expensive local tap water, and might even water my lawn for a change. I've seen all those constant rain systems comming through up there on the weather map, and you sure do get a lot some winters??

Sounds like you had a great day, erdine. The rain here has finished, but it's still pretty gloomy looking out there! I wish we had this kind of rain in July and August! It's almost 4 now, so I doubt if we'll see any sunshine now... :(

I just looked outside (it's 10:30 pm) and my car windshield is already looking frosted. It's gonna be cold tonight. Good thing I've been sewing new fleece pants this past week.

Sure looks wet and I found ice in the bird bath for the first time this fall yesterday morning, and for the first time ever my gingers were frozen even before I'd gotten around to digging them up to come in the house. I doubt the rhizomes have been damaged, but it might be interesting seeing if freezing the tops makes a difference in how they grow thereafter, or for storage?

I'm happy to say we did get more rain during the night , though I'm not sure how much. It's been so dry here this fall , any would be appreciated, so the plants not sit in bone dry ground all winter. I'd think even when dormant most plants do need some moisture to keep their roots from drying up completely, though I also think where the ground freezes very deep , a moist situation is preferred over a very wet one, as you get lots more ice in totally saturated ground and I dont' think the plants like that either.
