i've been watching the news coverage this morning, and thinking of all the folks in that area.
i tried to take a look at our b.s. frapper map, but it seems to be unavailable to me this morning.

are all the b.s.ers safe and sound??

t'shock, is all well in your area?

I'm watching the coverage on the tornados in Kentucky and Indiana and I'm hoping that all B.S.'s are safe and well. My heart is breaking for those that are not. So many times along the coast we get so caught up in our own storms that we forget how devastating storms can affect the rest of the country as well. My heartfelt prayers are sent that way. I do so wish the weather would give everyone- everywhere a break.

I hope TPS is ok

I don't think many people were prepared. We had warnings all night but the storm passed. Tornados seem to be their deadliest when they hit at night like that. I feel so bad for all the families left homeless or worse...

Even if she is ok, she could still be without power.

Guys I'm ok. I live in the NW of Indiana...however I was backpacking in the area and..uh spent an..uh....exciting night.... not far from where the tornados hit  I have a few bruises but am ok as all are who were with me. I had no idea it was tornados ripping through untill We got off the trail and could get cell phone service. All I knew at the time as that it was a clear night....then all hell broke loose and I was trying to cover my head as I was being pelted by black walnuts, branches and rain.

I'm so glad you're ok. :) Did you guys get hit by the hail? When I first saw it coming down I thought it was snow. ^_^

That wasn't a storm I would have enjoyed being caught in. I'm glad you didn't get hurt too badly  Black walnuts, heh? OUCH!

Watching the sky change color when a tornado is building is not something that a person ever forgets. I am glad that you are safe transplant. My heart goes out to everyone that has had to endure the weather conditions that are so extreme.

Wow, TPS! Glad you're OK.

As both a backpacker and a storm chaser, I've always had a pretty healthy respect for whether when backpacking.

My mother actually had a fair bit of wind damage to her house (another positive to the new job - I'm only about 45 minutes from most of my family now), so I spent a fair bit yesterday working on her house.

It's been an odd year for weather - the first time in recorded weather history that there were no tornados in Oklahoma in May, and there were no tornado-related deaths through June. It was looking like a good year for safety, until now. Grrrr.
