There is usually just one counted in this area during the bird counts, I've had one here for a few years now. On my return from my trip South, one was here again. This was taken from about 3 feet away throuth a window.

are they only rare for you guys or do we have them down here in pa? :unsure:

They are really rare out on the West coast, all the way down to CA. (Have you used the book at all?)

Morning Grindle. It is a member of the sparrow family, a White Throated Sparrow. We get the White Crowned Sparrow, the Golden Crowned Sparrow, the Song Sparrow, the Fox Sparrow, the Chipping Sparrow, and of course your little sparrow too. All come on the sun deck at different times of the year.

that's a fair mix of sparrows Kildale, out of our 2 we have no chance of seeing the tree sparrow as it's pretty rare nowadays, but I do have a little group of house sparrows visit regularly, can you believe they and the starlings are getting less these days :unsure:
