4. Veronica longifolia 'Subsessilis' or Speedwell
5. Liatris spicata 'Kobold' or Gayfeather
6. Astilbe chinensis 'Vision in Pink' or False Spirea
7. Silphium perfoliatum or Compass Plant
8. Heliopsis 'Loraine Sunshine' or False Sunflower
9. Lilium 'Stargazer' or Oriental Lily

7. Silphium perfoliatum or Compass Plant, a fun plant also know as the cup plant because the leaves hold water. It never reseeded massively for me but I have seen where it has in other gardens
8. Heliopsis 'Loraine Sunshine' or False Sunflower. Does that one have variegated leaves? That's a really sharp looking plant.

nice looking plants!!! love the look of that cool shady spot, too. i'm in full sun at my place and it's really, really HOT here right now!

yellow... yes the leaves are variegated... its very pretty.
the spot im planting these gets a range of full sun, part sun, and shade.

Nice selection! :D That's smart to already know where your going to plant them. I'm an impulse buyer and then scratch my head wondering where I'm going to put everthing!

Im sort of an impulse buyer too -- but bad thing is -- I'm running out of room!!! I cant just go plant over the daffodils! :D

Nice selection! I don't envy you planting all those in this heat. Say, where did you get those anyway? Are you "just outside NYC" in Bergen County maybe?

Yea im in bergen county.. and my family's garden center is in Woodcliff Lake...
Galaxy Gardens... I dont work there currently but I visit often!

Nice selection there!! Just dig in the evening after it has cooled down a bit, the sun has been a scorcher! :blink:
