I think it's a real shame that I live so very far away from those wonderful buns. I can almost smell them as I look at them.

they look delicious TPS. and you're right, the smell of yeast early in the morning is one of the best smells in the world. I used to make sticky buns too, not maple though. pecans or walnuts, whatever I had. do you put the maple flavouring in the sauce?

maple nut sticky buns-

1 cup coursly chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)

1/2 cup maple syrup

3 cups all purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 package quick-rise active dry yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm water

6 tablespoons butter, softened and divided

1 egg at room temp

1/2 cup brown sugar, divided

1 teaspoon cinnamon.

1) greese a 13by 9 inch baking pan and spread nuts and maple syrup evenly over bottom.

2) combine 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast and salt in a large bowl. Stir in water, 2 tablespoons butter and egg. Beat untill smooth: gradually stir in remaining flour untill soft dough forms. Cover and let rise untill doubled.

3) on a lightly floured surface roll dough to a 15 by 12 inch rectangle. Spread with remaining butter. Mix brown sugar with cinnemon, sprinkle over surface. Starting with the 12 inch side, roll up tightly.

4) Cut into 12 slices place cut side down in pan. Cover and let double in a warm spot (I put the pan over hot water). Bake in a 375 degree oven about 35 minutes for me. Cool 1 min. Loosen edges and invert onto a serving plate. Served best warm!

I bake alot of squash bread, pies, cakes, I`ve even made ice-cream cakes, might take a wee taste to see how they turn out but then I`m DONE!!!! Your sticky-buns lok really good TPS
