I love storms, and there are big ones going on all over the country, except here.

It's so hot and humid here I just took hold of a handful of air and squeezed a pint of water out of it. The tarmac on the roads is melting. It's hotter than Miami.

Rich... have you stood in your greenhouse???? Bet it's REALLY hot in THERE! I've sealed up the house and have the A/C running... it's taking me forever to recover from the heat I experienced in Florida last week! I WAS outside at 5:10 AM with the garden hose trying to give my little "tenders" a sustaining drink.. then another neighbor came out to do the same... then ANOTHER! Looked like a "hoser's block party!" :P :P :P

I took the plants out of the conservatory yesterday because they were wilting in the heat. It was quite fresh outdoors last night, but oh so hot indoors.

It's not worth getting a/c for the few really hot days we normally have in a summer.

That doesn't sound too pleasant. We are still having afternoon thunder storms, daily. If I could, I would harvest you some storm cloud seeds and mail them to ya'.

No need, the storm broke at 7 last night, quite spectacular, except we went to see Morris dancers outside the pub, and they had to do bits of their routine between the downpours.

It is much fresher now, and just pleasantly warm.

I could use about a ten degree drop here Rich, but I dont' think you Englishmen are used to dealing with such hot weather. You folks don't have air condtitioning for the most part , do you?? I'm not a big fan of the AC, but when it gets to ninety in my house , on goes the AC, if we have any power!! We had a transformer blow in the neighborhood yesterday afternoon and it too them hours to get the electric hooked up again. You can bet the AC went on a few minutes later!!

We've had just about the same conditions here Rich. I also don't have AC as It 's not worth it for the few hot days that we have. My house is well insulated so at night I open all the windows and close them in the am. Yesterday it was 91 outside and a cool 73 inside so who needs AC. I do have an attic fan that I turn on during the day to remove the hot air buildup there.

B) I'm in upstate NY and it's HOT! We are having a very hot summer this year. It's 90 today :( and the whole state has an air quality alert, so I'm hiding inside by the A/C. Thank God we do have one. My asthma does not do well in this weather, so my poor gardens will have to go it alone today. TV says we might get a break about Thursday or Friday next week. Everybody stay cool.

I'm so jealous.

I want the heat! Its only 5?c here at the moment. My tootsies are cold, as are my fingers. The fire is roaring away.

But I'm going to Australia next month and I'll make sure I pack my bikini :D

Make sure Kiwi , you go to the North in Australia , when you visit, since it's winter there as well, and I'm not sure that even Sydney has "bikini" weather this time of the year. It might be on the cool side! Remember also if you're in the north, to watch for the huge maneating "salties" or saltwater crocks. I've heard they find visiting Kiwis very tasty. Just kidding!!!! I think I've been watching to many "horror" movies maybe!!
