Salmon

I did a good deed last week and was rewarded for it today. Last week 2 little pampered lapdogs came running into our yard and one of them ran straight into our living room! They were pekingese and I knew the lady across the street had 4 dogs so I walked over and told her the dogs were at my house. Well, her and her husband went running over to get them - it seems they're like children to them.

Anyhoo - this morning the man came over and asked if we'd like some salmon he caught yesterday and of course we said yes. He brought us over THREE HUGE spring salmon - way too generous of him. We just finished cutting them into pieces and wrapping them for the freezer - all except the pieces we're eating tonight.

I guess we'll be eating a lot of salmon in the next few months.

I would be standing at their fence saying "here doggy come to mama", and call them monthly. "Your dogs are at my house bring salmon" :lol:

The latest gosip is that the lady whos dog attacked me last year (which tore open my knee and had to have stitches) when I stepped outside my front door, has been whispering about hurting my pups in some kind of retribution. The poor cat lady next to her has had her cats and garage shot up by bb guns...and always just after the cat lady tells them off for parking in front of her parking spot... <_<

Yummmmm Barbequed salmon steaks!!! Basted with teriyaki sauce and topped with garlic butter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mellow:

we use teriyaki sauce too,and it's delicious. we just had a big coho that was given to us by DH's cousin. mmmmmm. bbq'ed it for some people from Saskatchewan, they were totally impressed.

did you ever try bulls eye bbq sauce on the salmon? when i first heard that i thought i would get sick because i never ate anything on salmon except butter and dill...but i tried it and now i am hooked. i can't even describe the flavor. it blends with the salmon really well and it is better on the grill but can be done in the oven.
btw....what really nice neighbors. isn't that nice to see there are still wonderful people on the earth...
