Hard to feel like Autumn when it's 100 degrees outside. Although I am starting to get in the mood for cooler weather food like stuffed peppers, chicken and dumplings or a big ole pot of stew, it's still to hot to make it worth heating the kitchen up that much. Maybe in another month I'm hoping.

I love Autumn and I'm really trying to wind down this garden season. I just can't seem to quit planting. I moved some ferns today and put them in the new bed I'm making. The leaves here are supposed to be good sights the last weedend of Sept. and the first weekend of Oct. Much earlier than Indiana's leaf show. But Autumn to me means Pumpkins and cider as well as Chili. Yum, Yum! I've already started sewing , so I'm ready for winter also. Connie

I used to love autumn with all the bright colored trees, mums, and halloween, but nowdays since it's just a precurser to winter for me, I find myself getting depressed in the autumn in the anticipation of another cold , sloppy, and often gloomy Michigan winter, that seems more depressing every year!! I guess I could take up winter sports, providing I could take the cold in my old bones, and didn't mind the sometimes monotonous gray of overcast skies, day after day for weeks sometimes. Even a very cold winter with some rare sunshine is much more bearable than our normal winters and if I were to enjoy skating outdoors, or even skiing, I couldn't even count on having cold enough weather for those half the time.

welcome to australia! my friends its wonderful here just starting to blossom. i look out the window and see a red bottle brush out in full bloom, and a golden honey suckle looking beautiful and another smaller variety of bottle brush bloomingblue lillies opening this time of morning which is 10 am here sunny and a nice breeze for me to keep cool when i'm gardening soon :D at the moment i'm waiting for my gran to bring her plants out to mine so i can baby sit while she's on holidays. though the stay will be permenant because she is getting her little garden dug up by the council she's not to worried as they've been going to do it for 12 years so she has nothing planted there that could come to any harm. the only thing she is truly worried about is her copper pot of orchids :( well i'm going to get oof the computer and get ready to do some hard core potting! have a nice day guys and girls, look after yourself and your gardens
