It's a weed actually, but a pretty one. I love the way the wild asters bloom along the roadsides and fields and sneak into my flower bed this time of year. There are so many different wild ones around. Does anyone else have them blooming now?

Aw, so that what that is!!
Funny, I had one growing right in the middle of my tall purple aster. How sneaky of a weed to plant itself with another plant with matching leaves. I yanked it out when it started to bloom and I saw it was not my aster I had planted.
I have the purple blooming now. :)

I always had the purple ones but they seem to have disappeared this year. I liked them because they were one of the last bloomers.

Ginny, that is pretty. I have not seen any blooming in PA. If you get some seeds I want some pretty please. I have never been able to get the asters to live to the next year. Maybe a weed will take in my yard. I seem to be able to grow them really good.

That species of wild aster was so common around here a year of so ago, that I actually had them growing in my front lawn and the grass strip in the middle of our driveway. I really like them!! Seemed sad however , whenever I had to mow the lawn , but it seems those could adjust to the very short height and flower anyway.
Aren't "weeds" (flowers) amazing sometimes??

They are extremely sneaky weeds. I have a large one growing behind the obedient plant in the pic I posted in the photos thread. I'm hoping it's one of the purples, then I'll let it stay. I've seen many different kinds along the roads here, mostly purples, light and dark and whites. Some are larger flowered and others are tiny like the one in the pic.
Aud your welcome to all the weed seeds you want! I just hope it has time to go to seed before frost comes. I think it will since it's stil 80* out.

 Yeah down at our cottage they are very abundant. They can be really hard to get rid of sometimes. But they are pretty.
