Oh well Larry ,at least I don't think the Agave will have stinky flowers! More than likely the flowers might even be quite pleasant smelling for the agave??

The blooms on the stapelia are very pretty but the smell is like rotted meat! :P I had one many years ago and loved to "get" people with it! ^_^ They would see the blossom and stick their nose close for a sniff!! They only tried it once!! I didn't know the scientific name of the plant when I had it. I bought it at a yard sale and was told it was a carrion plant! Good name for it!! The flies love it!! :P

Gary, it will be many years before the agave flowers, and then when it does it will die.
Like Semps they are monocarpic.

Oh well Larry , should you live long enough to get flowers on the agaves (nothing morbid intended), they will produce pups to start the new generation anyway, and I got used to seeing lots of those huge ones in California, and loved them. I can't say their exactly the "cuddly" type plants you'd want anywhere near a pathway though!! Ouch!!!
