Earlier this year I posted a thread showing a bit of plant I had picked up in a supermarket car park.
This is how it looks now, the photo doesn't do it justice. It has purple leaves and small pink flowers on the end of each stem.

I've heard that called Moses in the Bulrushes. ;) It's a form of wandering jew plant(tradescantia-sp?), I think. It's used in the southeast as a ground cover but I always saw it grown as a house plant before moving to NC! ;)

Rich you are right, I love love love that plant. We call it Purple Heart. It grows soooo fast, the color is gorgeous, roots easy. I use it in my pots in the summer everybody always ask me what it is or they want a piece. :D I will have some to share when I take down my outside hanging plants if anybody wants a start. PM me.

 oh yeah, that's a favorite of mine too, setcreasea purpurea
it's a pretty reliable herbaceous perennial here,
and like harley said, it's often used as a groundcover,
it's as tough as nails. i've even seen it used as a roadway island planting.
i've heard it called moses in a boat and moses in the bulrushes,
but i hadn't heard purple heart before, that's a pretty name for it.

I'd love to have a few pieces of that! :D I had a big pot of it several years ago but had to give it away when we moved because we ran out of room in the truck!!
