Ok... so i'm watering my mint plant...and it had mushrooms in it. I was watering it everyday, was that too much... I mean it would start whilting if I didn't. I picked them out, but should I repot it in fresh soil. ??

Mushrooms or toadstools. You probably have woody bits in your compost which have spores attached.
They won't do any harm, you only use the new tips of the mint anyway so just leave them or pull them out if they look ugly..

you don't even want to know where I have fungus.... <_< LOL I dont think the mushrooms are doing any harm, it jsut means that there are good soil organisams in your soil breaking down stuff so your plants can use it.

As long as your mint is still looking good, don't worry about them. Just pull them up as you would any other weed.

Now this is more in my area. You may be able to avoid attached spores by using a cleaner potting soil. Try coco fibre instead of wood-mulch. it is cleaner and retains water longer.

I like to grow anything I can, Boo, however right now I am growing a seasonal, flowering shrubbery; a sago palm, some veggies and my trusting, and trusty herbs. Very soon I will be moving into annuals. What do you like to grow in the quads?

Just about everything I can in my zone and a bunch that isn't for my zone. My basement is now full of grow lights and tropical plants, nice little escape from the winter if I can get over the musty basement smell. -_-
I think you'll like it here. Everyone is really friendly here.. but apparently I am the only one that can see you.

Well, if you wanted to you could post in the welcome area. :D Perhaps people would see you then and I would be reassured your not a figment of my imagination. Otherwise keep posting and sooner or later someone's got to take notice.
How long have you been gardening and what's the story behind the name Soilman? <_<
Oh basement is lovely  look past the musty basement odor, kitty box in the corner and the occasional hundred or two spiders.
I'm growing a little bit of everything down there. :D

the Ph balance of the soil is tooo sour quite often you are using old soil and you may want to repot or if in the ground do the dig and replace with new top soil to prevent the PH from getting to sour, and dont overwater a little bit is enough

You can get a ph balance tester at a hardware store... this is a good point that fussy brings up. It is really amazing what the different contents of the soil will have on wanted and unwanted life in your pots... gardens ect. Another one you can keep a watchful eye on is the moisture content, which you can also pick up at a hardware store (moisture meter) This is getting pretty technical and can eventually take the fun out of just "letting things grow" I end up having to tests on these things regularly in my field... (sigh) The fun part is the planting and spreadsheets are necessary.
Different plants like different moistures and ph balances, so if you want to have an acurate garden, you can precisely add or take away from the soil to produce your plants exactly how you want OR you can use you gardening sense and enjoy it more!
Cheers! Happy Digging!
