I started a leaf off last September, and was told it takes about a year, well, its a year later and its just turning yellow soon. Hopefully thats a sign that its working!

<_< gosh, i had no idea that this plant could be propogated from a leaf, that's very cool! i'll have to give it a try.
zamioculcas zamifolia  what a mouth full, no wonder they just call it zz plant
it's a fast grower too, i picked one up last year, it was in a good sized pot with plenty of room to spare,
but, boy oh boy does it ever need to be repotted now, it has totally deformed it's pot <_<

I"ve not heard that it's possible to grow one from a leaf , but I guess it's possible??
Not everything can be grown from leaf cuttings however, any more than all plants can be rooted in water!!

Well, technicaly its a leaflet like the individual segments of an ash leaf.
Most plants wont grow from leaves and many may think that only suculent plants can be propagated this way. Makes sense after all.
BUT leaf begonias can be grown from leaves as can Streptocarpus, it just works for some plants and not for others.
BTW, Z Z plant is listed as a succulent because it has a caudex.
