i live in australia and just around the corner from a family who have invented or reinvented a forever bright thing. now this "thing" is for seedlings, as they grow a many lot of plants in their green houses, sell them and other various gardening "things", this "thing" has been designed about two stories high with lights which have the same effect as the sun. this "thing" is made out of plastic over a metal frame so during the day the lights are off and its a normal two foot green house with mechanical rotating seedling holders, at night the lights go on and the machine is started up so the seedlings rotate and all get even "sunlight" and shade. from what i've heard it is a break through in gardening(though i'm not sure), and the family was offered a few million to have it bought from some over seas gardening company so they could reproduce it> not sure whats happened but it was funny to drive past it at 11pm and see this green house with all its lights on

Sounds very interesting , but hobby gardeners have been growing seedlings with only gro-lite artificial light for years, although without the rotating things to turn the plants. There's always been an advantage to greenhouse growing , being the light was free without reliance on the electricity to produce light, but I suppose if it's a much faster system from seed to plants ready for sale, then it could be a big advance. I'm sure I've most likely missed something important in your post that makes the system unique, besides the rotating holders for the seedlings. Would like to hear more about it.
