Here are two of my windowsills. One is full of orchids and the other has hibiscus'.

The net curtains diffuse the sunlight making good lighting conditions for them. The orchids only get sunlight early in the morning.

Darn it Rich, you're making me green with envy again , with those tropical hibiscus pictures, and since I have the darndest time getting any blooms whatsoever on mine the past couple of years. I must try some new fertilizer or something , since mine look perfectly healthy , but are totally flowerless!!

They are on a south facing windowsill with net curtains. They usually have at least one flower each and until I started feeding them the flowers were rather small.

Beautiful hibiscus. I'm not used to seeing them grown as houseplants though. I guess I really didn't know that they could be so pretty inside. I might just have to try one inside to see how I do.

Oh Sunshine, tropical hibiscuses really do well indoors with adequate humidity and a very bright location and can flower yearound indoors with good light and warmth yearound. My mom's in Michigan would flower all winter long but her's got some very bright indirect light most of the day, with a few hours of direct sun in the mornings. They really are almost perpetual bloomers where temperatues permit that yearound.
