  yhea he was a cutie. We looked at two other pups... one a akita/chow mix 4 months old and very beautiful but huge, and too rough and hyper/uncontrollable when I was trying to examine him. I ended up bit! He wouldnt let me look at his paws, nothing, which if the dog will be mountian climbing and backpacking you need one that is very tollorent to that kind of thing. The second one we looked out, also a big pup at 7 months was also way too wild. He'd been adopted very small and brought back a week ago because he was "uncontrollable" He was fine in the kennel, but in the play room, you could not get his attention at all, he would not come to you, all he wanted was to go after other dogs...NOPE! This guy showed all the characteristics we were looking for in a dog and the right age. Already nuetered and well sociolized.

Such a sweet looking pup! My last Schnauzer, I think, spent at least two months as puppy in a cage at a pet store, and he sure didn't look happy looking out through the bars of his cage, which might be one reason I bought him. Unfortunately , I think those poor pups at that age are sort of "damaged" by that sort of confinement and lack of affection, if they're in those cages for long, and Benji turned out to be a very needy little puppy , who would howl for hours when I had to go to work. Separation Anxiety , I guess they call that for dogs, and I guess he never quite outgrew that, though he finally stopped barking as much , so I didn't get evicted from my apartment as threatened. I guess, if I'd been wise and had the money as well, I might have taken him to a doggie psychiatrist, to solve that problem. Possibly???

He looks so sad in that prison cell.
You can't call him Cuddles. Call him "Rape" it'd be so much fun shouting for him.

Maybe some bad news for sassha...as I was giving her her bath and groom today I discovered a walnut sized lump at the base of her tail.....She hasnt been nawing at it (as she usually does when she has some kind of skin irritation)...Ive got to take her to the vet soon, Im worried about that.

aww look at those eyes... It is really hard for me to go into the spca, i want to take them all home, and I used to work at the local humane society and it was a very hard job. All these pets that are unwanted and that have been there so long just looking for a home... sometimes to no avail. pretty sad

You should adopt both dogs. One for companionship and the other to scare away the bears (an Akita-Chow could take on a bear anytime). That is a breed mix that would get a muzzle no-qustions-asked if he walked into my hospital. It's a shame, he'll probably end up biting someone and getting euthanized anyway.

blue...IF i had a lot bigger yard, IF i didnt have to worry about my other pets (including my 7 year old dog) the akita might of been a go...or maybe not. He'd bitten me when we were looking at him. A no go for a trail dog. You have to have a dog that is very obidient and not going to bite anyone.
