After the flowers are spent, is there any special way of pruning them? Or should I just cut them off? Thanks

You can cut them off so that they won't go to seed. Since mine do not bloom until later in the growing season, I just let them go to seed so that I can save the seeds for trading. Then in early Spring/late Winter, I will cut the BFB down, about a foot from the ground.
