This made me laugh when I saw this pic. Do you think guy doesn't like Chihuahuas? Could they really smell that bad?

It breaks my heart when I see all the stranded animals left behind. They are usually the last to be the thought of. In this case the poor was left too -_- but anyway  i don't want to get political

back to the pets! Look at this picture :P

What really upsets me is when you see a dog wagging his tail at the people rescue workers as they drive by. I hope someone rescues them.

It does look like people are working on getting the pets now. One helicopter pilot saved an itty bitty kitty that fit in the palm of his hand.

I know that people are suffering so much, but it's the worst to see animals, they can't help themselves at all. some things are better not to see.
glad the kitty got rescued, seems so wonderful to see a big man with a little critter in his hands.

Poor little pups - but the pic is funny. We volunteered to foster one or maybe two refugee dogs through the local SPCA. Should be arriving this weekend.

I can say I agree with all the previous sentiments!! I hate to think that there are probably many of those dogs not getting any help whatsoever!! I remember a story about a New Orleans man who has three cockatoos and who used to visit nursing homes etc. with them. He even had it put in his will that his niece and nephew would take on the life time care of the cockatoos, which most likely would outlive him. I'm just hoping he managed to evacuate before the storm with his birds in safety!!

Oh Mr Seedy.. I SAW that story on TV.... he did dwell in the french quarter! Sigh..... Loved the birds when they'd perch out on the balcony while he had his afternoon tea!

Didn't he have a limosine service or something???? I think I remember seeing two of the birds going to work with him.....

I guess he used to take them almost everywhere with him and even to the open air cafe' where he's have his lunch!! I hope they're fine and he is as well. I sometimes wish I could afford even one of those cockatoos, but they're out of my price range!! Of course I love any kind of bird basically, except maybe a vulture, or something equally bald!!
