When I had my daughter 3.5 years ago the company I worked for gave me a plant arrangement with 4 different plants in the basket. I finally seperated them and the peace lily finally bloomed last month after me having it for that long! I didn't even know what kind of plant it was until one of my friends told me.

I was wondering what you do after the plant blooms...do I eventually cut the flower off or will it die on it's own, how long does the flower last? I definately need help. This is a very beautiful plant and I would like to keep it...sentimental reasons.

Why did it take that long for it to bloom...can anyone offer some input?

Thanks,
Nicole

I have peace lillies in my betta vase and I have never cut off anything unless it is dead, it does very well. If I were you I would just leave The pretty flowers until they are finished.

I'd remove the "spent" flowers when they start looking bad by going down the flower stem almost to the point where they're attached to the plant and cutting them off. Other than removing and sickly looking leaves and flowers, you don't want to prune them!!
