Buster, Why would you wash yor camera? Are you using it on the Sahara? In the local mud pit? I never ever got water near mine or even Damp if I could help it.    Can't help you with the problem but that scares me.

Donybe, It was dirty? Actually it was laying in some bedlinens and I didn't know it. I looked for it for 2 days. When I took the sheets out of the washer there was my camera! At first it wouldn't do anything, then after it dried out, it came on and it still takes pix. But I can see the lines on my screen. :( :( :( :( . I wonder if it can be fixed? Buster

I can AMOST bet that they'll tell you - it's cheaper to replace it than to get it fixed! Sorry to hear about your poor little camera! :(

Agree with DandyLioness over that one really well! I used to repair V.C.R.'s and they got that way ( before DVD's hit the market that is )! sorry about your camera though!
Phil :-)

Wow! can you adjust the horizontal hold on that screen?! Sorry don't mean to be a smartie but I see a house and lawn behind all those lines and don't know if it can be fixed or not. I have gotten my digi slightly wet when I was out taking pics after what I thought had finished raining. The sun was out when I went out but an invisible cloud burst suddenly appeared outta no where. Maybe if it dries out a bit longer it might lose the lines but I don't really know as I am technically challenged <_<

My biggest faux paux was getting sand all over the camera when I was taking pics, I set it down to pull some weeds out of the way and forgot (A.A.D.D. or Alsheimer moment) I had done it and buried it. It works and had the bottom part closed where it docks for download but very hard turning the switch on to macro setting-last one on the dial and turning it off again. Hey, after over 10,000 pics it has done its job and prices are reasonable for digi's these days!

Hope yours will lose the lines as it did take a good pic before its bubble bath! ;)

As a last resort, you can try taking a hair dryer to it - at a medium setting, to try to dry it out thoroughly... open up all areas. If that doesn't work... then, I'm afraid it's time for a new camera.

my son threw the phone in the toilet. It didn't work for quite some time but the other day I heard this chirping noise coming from the corner where it rests: it was telling me that it is still alive! The caller id screen is no longer readable but everything else works like new (it just smells a little bit ;)

When my DD was about 3 she "sailed" one of her plastic boats down the toilet. Clogged it all to heck and of course we didn't own a plunger. I had to go borrow one from my smarmy neighbour who thought it was very funny.

We bought our own plunger after that.

I'm sorry about your camera.

Never, I repeat NEVER wash a camera! Bad idea. You could try to take it to a dealer but my guess would be it's toast. :( :(

OH NO NOT THE CAMERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v27/rhjff/clipart/smileys/words%20and%20clapping/sorry.gif

You did open all the compartment and take out the memory card and put a little fan on it so it will dry right? That is all know about trying to get it to work after it gets wet.

Well, it is looking like its improving some! Keep on trying things and see what happens! REMEMBER THOUGH ----- NEVER, NEVER , NEVER do that again with a camera ( I know it was an accident and accidents happen )! But just remember this the next time something happens and your camera was involved someway, somehow ok ???
Looks like you got really lucky this time!
Phil :-) :D

I don't know I haven't smelled them.I do know they can stink up a room really bad in another way, but we won't go there.Connie

Maybe after a day of open and a littlle fan it will be better. I would keep all compartments open and memory card out for atleast overnight.
It does look a little better.

Wow, that would be my nightmare, It does appear to be getting better though. I shot a wdding last summer in a terrible rainstorm, the camera was soaked
(35 mm) after a while it wouldnt work at all, took the batteries out and the film that was in it and let it set a few days and it was fine. I hope you get the same luck. I have run a couple hundred rolls through that camera since then and it runs fine.
