I recently went to Chapters, and bought a book by Freeman Patterson, a photographer with a most beautiful garden. I love his photos, and watched a tv program called Recreating Eden, which profiled him and his garden.
Have you found any good gardening books?

Several years ago a friend bought me Tasha Tudor's Garden, one of my favourites.

As far as art, I have a Robert Bateman book (wildlife and nature) and Group of Seven (some are flowers and gardens) that are also favourites.

I've got a lot of garden reference books, but my favourite is the RHS Plant finder. I'd like to get one of Beth Chato's book

I have a great food gardening book by Carolyn Herriot called A Year On The Garden Path. It'a a 52-week organic gardening guide and has each week of the year with specifics of what you should be doing in the garden that week. Believe it or not in this zone we can grow food all year long if we so desire. For this week in November she talks all about mulch, putting your garden to "bed" and taking hardwood cuttings.

I havn`t bought any lately, but then isn`t it about time for that fat man in the red suit to come around? Maybe I`ll put a bug in my daughters ears. Perhaps one of them will comply.

I have two shelves of gardening books and magazines. It seems I always refer to the same four books. For flowers BH&G's Complete Guide to Flower Gardening and BH&G's New Garden Book. For Veggies Crockett's Victory Garden and Mel Bartholomew's Square Foot Gardening. All are tattered, dog-eared and filled with notes. More then anything I refer to my own journal.
