It's been hanging around at work for a few days and I haven't gone to look at it yet. I'm hoping it's still around after the Holiday weekend. I knew with no camera, I would have been climbing the tree trying to capture it. That's the only way a perserve will except it, if it's caught. Got any tips on how. I have some netting..this could make my day if it's still around if only to take a picture. I saw one on the interent and it's so exotic. Doesn't belong in NJ in a pine tree...must look really funny.
If it flown about, I'll be spending my days looking for it. Can't image it wanting to be any where else....greast place to live as a bird. People are trying to feed it and offer water...dead ringer for hawl though.

I think if you have a Golden Pheasant you need a Golden Retriever to cach it Yellow. If it can fly a net won't work. Maybe you can use my neighbors German Short Hair Pointer. They find lots of birds. Just kidding of course.

I don't think any of those have succeeded in "naturalizing' anywhere in the U.S. and the ones I've seen were only in peoples' or zoos collections and in cages, but I couldn't think of a much more beautiful or colorful bird. I hope you can catch it, as it most likely wouldn't survive on it's own in the wild?

I googled to see what the golden pheasant looks like and what a beautiful bird it is! Good luck trying to find it and capture it, I think I'd keep it for myself. ;)

I was somewhat "puzzled" by the fact that as far as I know, there are no "naturalized" numbers of them anywhere in the U.S., but on the other hand I guess , even in England there are "naturalized" populations of them. Could be they were intentionally introduced there though, as were our "ringnecked" pleasants originally, which came from China as a game bird. Could be there aren't enough "escaped" golden ones anywhere to establish "naturalized" populations , as I'm sure there are climates etc. somewhere in the U.S. that would be ideal for them to survive?? Looking back quite a few years, I saw a report that even the ring necked pheasants had "declining" populations in Michingan, and it was speculated that Michigans extreme winters some years could really be the cause for their population decline. Could be environmental factors there as well!!
It seemed that years back I could always see wild pheasants most of the year when driving around in more rural areas , but nowdays I've not seen one in years.

I only was able to get close enough to take and picture, a few feet. It seems so tame that it must have lived where it had food supplied. I know it flies and there is a Golden Pheasant golf club near by...maybe it was their's. If that what it is? Isn't it beautiful? I would be a afraid of hurting it if I threw a net on it and then what transport it in a pillow case, maybe a box. Will it make it through the winter if it just hangs around. I wonder what everbody plans to happen to it because there's a red fox running around and quite a few cats.

Did you try calling the country club? Sounds like it might possibly belong there. Maybe if you feed it to keep it close bye, someone else can come and capture it.

Can I well we keep it!!! can we!!! is what I'm thinking. I should find out about clipping it wings....I did already think to look on pet finders. There 's an area at work that has some turtles that's enclosed. I already feed then and I noticed some kitchen help young kids have filled in over the summer in my absence but they can never hit the jack pot like I did today today. I had to irrigate and wasn't dressed for with shorts no jacket this morning almost 50's...picked up an plastic cap box lid and when I did..... hit the mother load of slugs. Yuck....I flug they on the parking lot..... they fell off and was ready to squash them when I though of a lady who told me turtles love them a few weeks ago...no worms today...too dry. So I put on gloves and scooped them up. The slider turtle was aldready looking in the pond for the last bit of snails at 6:30 am, she keeps it clean. I poured in the group and she was happy. I feel like I wrok in a zoo sometimes. But at least most weeds are well behaved as a gardener and the pulling and yanking doesn't get me kick.
I just don't want the thing to get taken by the fox. It will be a good idea. I just have to except the fact that I'm tired and need to do something more fabulous then pulling weeds....It's a personal diversion. I'll use my break but I can't stop for famous.

It's crazy...not me I was given a video last week for an expansion of the developement on a meadow that being redone and it most likely a few hours forus on a Weeping Atlis Cedar in the main Atrium always on channel I think 15. I have to get with the media dept now. I can't even remeber were I got the tape from but the ground is tilled...they are not going to drive me nuts. But that tree needs to be pruned or the camera moved to see the water falls. PIW.....that's what we say Put it in writting...
That bird will be captured and enjoyed and then I don't have to do anything after that....maybe ask on some kind of motitor of it's movement. My job is so weird.

If I was to show you what I've been looking at...I swear I might be paranoid but more than a few might be upset that a non native bird couold be used...so I'm left to think what comes first the chicken or the egg. You have to know I'm dealing and they know who I am with a very very diversered mas group of people that don't want to stop me.
I think it's been a move with the bird and planted like the video. They just want me to have fun most ofall. Who could be hurt. I think I'll try and I've already asked mu BF to use the cannoe with me this wekend even though he afarid...not because of his ruptured ear....I wont let me go over board. We might get side tracked.
