This may be of no help at all - but it is directed to anyone who has
XP Home and is not able to get Scheduled Tasks to work as it should.
I had ignored this problem for far too long, but decided I now wanted to
use S.T as a means of increasing security, etc., at the times that
suited me.
Through a kind person at Microsoft Help, I learned that nowadays
as opposed to previous times, because of Microsoft safety additions, for this area
an initial log-in password is required (that is, when logging on to the computer
you are informing S.T. you are the controller/commander of it.)
I was totally and blissfully unaware of this.
Although this took some time for the poor man to verify, he stuck with it, and
I now am in charge of Scheduled Tasks as I was in the beginning!
He very politely refrained from asking me what took me so long.
