I will set up a before and after album soon. Things are coming along slowwww but my contractor is so particular and I do not mind I want it right and last.

So here is a peak at my master bath. I used Travertine marble, whirlpool tub and had him put mood lights for my relaxing tub time.

Close up of the design. I sat on the floor for hours putting the mosaic design together the way I wanted it to look. I like the way it turned out. The contractor did not think it would work. He is now saying it is his design.

This is the mirror that will be put up after painting is done.

I went with a vessel sink and mahagony vanity

Floor is 16 x 16 tiles

Very pretty Adu. It looks luxurious. I wish I had such a large bathroom. That tub looks perfect for soaking after a day in the garden.

Congratulations on making your own designs turn out well, Aud. I am watching your
progress with special interest, of course, although I haven't got to the
interior yet and won't for a while at my place. Like you, I opted for a
bath, although not every homebuyer wants one now...just showers. Great place to relax
and recover especially after a stressful occasion. My tiles and some limited
design to go with them were chosen a long time ago, and I hope I still
like them!

Penny your are right a lot of people want a shower only. I will post my daughters bath later. She did only a shower. She never uses the tub. I like both. When I have been in the garden I take a quick shower then run the bath I sit in the tub and fill her up it only takes 2 min. I have a whirlpool tub in the house I am in now and I would not be without one anymore.

I ended up doing the mosiac because I, like you had brought tile long ago but did not have enough to do the entire bath so I needed a filer. I had really brought the tile for some mosaic garden design. Never thought it would end up in my bathroom. I love to buy tile when I see it on sale

Hi Nettle, where have you been. I have missed you.

Ginny, I told him if I see it in anybody's bath I am going to sue him.

it looks FABULOUS!!!! i love the tilework!!

i'm thinking about the same type sink for my bathroom...i have to find one that will be small enough as it's REALLY tight - the sink is directly across from the toilet and the tub to the right of it, so, not a lot of walking room.

joclyn, these sinks are perfect for tight spaces. You can get 15" - 18" I used a big piece of furniture because I had my bath enlarged but my daughter's bathroom we did not enlarge so I used a smaller 2 drawer square on the walll and a 15" vessel sink. In small spaces you want/need the floor space. Think of going up put some shelves above the sink for counter space.

I saw the idea in bathroom books of effective use of small spaces The book said do not be afraid to use furniture. Look outside your usual bathroom fixture areas.

Have I confused you?

Here are some ideas

thanks, aud and no, you didn't confuse me! i'd done a fair amount of research last fall...

my bathroom is very small - just enough room to walk by the tub to get to the toilet and sink. shelves above the sink would make it seem even more narrow, i think. that's why i wanted to stick with something for the sink that had some storage, plus the medicine chest is built in so there's a little storage there.

:lol: All I need to do is import some cabanna boys and the bathroom will be complete.

Thanks Blue and Spring for the compliment. It has been a true work of love. There is nothing like laying back in the whirlpool after a long day in the garden. It massages all the pain away.

You can all come and test my bath anytime you want. I will roll out the welcome mat and fire up the whirlpool for you.

{{snicker}} Yeah, all that boinking (or boogling) in the bottom storey outhouse. Poor Aud would have to redo that gorgeous mosaic within a few hours.

Yes, cabana boys would fit right in with that decor, Aud.
