Hello again, plant lovers. I recently acquired this lovely seed grown plant. It is a N. Kohala; complete parentage: N. [(kampotiana x maxima) x (fusca x veitchii)]. I must say that I'm very impressed with this particular one I got since you never know what a seed grown plant (especially with the variation in Nepenthes) will look like when you first get it.
The peristome and lid are particularly facinating to me. I'm looking forward to this plant growing more and am particularlly interested in how the upper pitchers will turn out (although I have a ways to go before that stage in growth!).
Hope you enjoy!

I must say that is a fascinating plant and the pictures are splendid. I love that fifth one especially. You need to visit more often.

Thank you, Bernie. I do love this place even though I post infrequently. Since my job has become more time consuming as fall approaches I didn't have the time to invest in the houseplants I used to have and I don't have the ability to grow a garden; thus I focus all my attention on my carnivorous plants. I'm the moderator at one of the carnivorous plant forums but I come here for my fix of knowledge in all things non-CP!
I should have some more good looking plants coming down the pipe, and I look forward to sharing more in the future.

edit: I forgot to mention that this pitcher was hard to get at because it formed towards the back of my shelf, and all the hanging baskets were in the way. The next one I should be able to get better (and more accurate) coloration; and, better a better macro shot of the peristome.

Another nice one there, and I do find the tropical hanging types perhaps the most fascinating of the group!!

Thanks. I've been incredibly busy the last month (opening a brand new residence hall) so unfortunately I have neglected my plants (and not watered for about two weeks! :um:) I lost a significant amount of pitchers during this time, but the plants all seem to be recovering from the dehydration pretty well. The positive thing about this (that I keep telling myself) is that during this drought, hopefully the plants have been working hard to develop a stronger and more expansive root system! lol.

It is not hard to capture the beauty when the plant is just so beautiful to start with. Unfortunately, this pitcher is just starting to show signs of decay (mainly due to the lack of water mentioned above); but another one just popped the lid today and it is more sizable, and in a better location for picture taking. Alas, even being in a better location, it is facing away from where I normally stand! Over the next couple days to a week, this pitcher will start to color up nicely. Right now the pitcher is pretty pale green (like the photos above without the splotches).
