B) Sometimes called Wild Hanging Pineapple, this bromeliad (Acanthostachys strombilacea) is the one of the most drought-tolerant members of the family. Very prickly leaves and fruit. I've had this fella for about 15 years.

Oh my gonzer, I must say your collection just keeps getting more and more interesting, and I do like plants that look like they'd provide tons of free babies for easily multiplying the plants.

I should have taken a closer look, and I know for regular pineapples , which have pups on tops of the fruit, those may be removed and rooted to from new pineapple plants. Tis true , I see no babies on the tops of that fruit!!

In answer to your question, no haven't ever seen a plant like this and very cool looking Brom! Have to agree with Terese, it does look rasta, mon! :P
