I feel the same way Transplant, and if I were to make up a wish list for new plants to add for indoor growing , it might be a couple hundred. I'd only need to buy a house at least four times the size of the one I have now, to fit all those in, and that would be plants in every room, wall to wall probably.

I have exactly the same problem. If space wasn't an issue, then I would have thousands of plants ... I always want to get new ones.

awwww, t'shock - just imagine the incredible "habitat" you'll have for all your critters,
when you finally just give in to the urge - toss all the furniture - and pile in every plant you ever dreamed of!!!
 you won't need a vacuum cleaner, just a machete  :P

I need a machete' right now during the winter months , when the plants are indoors, and my front entryway is a no "entry" area, since I can barely squeeze through to the front door to answer it or go in and out. Strictly the back door in the winter here, and even there in that very small entry I have a couple of plants restricting movement a bit!! My bathroom is one area with no plants , since it's extremely tiny, and has poor light anyway, but every other room in the house except the kitchen has plants in the winter, and the kitchen just hasn't any nearby windows for light and is dark even midday in the summer, and is also very tiny .
I still keep thinking of new inventive ways to use more of the space farthest from the windows , since those areas would be fit only for very low light plants most of the year. Oh well, a greenhouse would be the ideal solution and that's still on my wish list.

I have to keep negotiating for more garage space to winter over my plants. My husband isn't a plant person, but supports my "habit". I think he also likes the compliments when people talk about all of my plants both summer and winter!

I come from a long line of gardeners and have many pass along plants that were my grandmother's. I use those as my trump card ("It's Mamaw's plant...I can't let it freeze over the winter!!")

This is one of them. A Midnight Cereus that has been in the family since the 60's. One stays in the house over the winter, the other in the garage. I don't dare risk killing them both!!

I used to always keep "backup" babies I'd start from cuttings , in case the mother plants might catch some unexpected pest or disease and succumb to that, but the past several years my cuttings haven't been striking the way they should. I guess it's time for new rooting hormone , as mine is very old, and also some sterile potting mix or starting mix. I used to always use my own peat-lite mix , which is pretty sterile and that worked well. I hate it when I feel like I"m losing my touch with the cuttings, and it is fun to use the extras for gifts to friends. I did finally manage to get a new "dark red" Christmas Cactus started when the mother plant seemed to contract some rootrot and was dieing, so I'm crossing my fingers that one will continue to do well and flower. My orchid cactus from cuttings however is showingt signs that the older branches are suffering perhaps from root rot , though the younges branches still look firm and healthy. Can't figure that one out??? Usually if the roots rot, even the youngest shoots will wilt and die?? They do sometimes , I guess use some of the older branches for reasons other than root rot though, so I hope that's the case. I'd hate to lose those though I get few blooms. I've had them since 1987 or so from cuttings!!
