This is one of my favorite Kalanchoes love the color of the plant when it is grown in full sun. Colors fades to grey green and very little lavender is present in partial to shady locations. It does like alittle more water than the its cousins to keep there scallop leaves plump and stems from becoming brittle. Like all the rest of Kalanchoes we have they are growing outdoors in the ground, easy to maintain and propagate from either stem cuttings or leaves. As with must succie just allow the cut end or leaf scar to dry a couple days before inserting stems in soil or laying the leaves on top of the soil. Flowers look very similar to the daigremontiana & tubiflora but they are a pale orangish color, have a pic of them but can't seem to locate CD at the moment. The pics below were in my photobucket and taken Feb '05 this is there winter color, will have to take some pics of there summer color which is alittle different.

Sally, I love that plant also. Thanks for the info that it needs more water. Kalanchoes are my favorite. They have such great colors they are like flowers year round if they get enough sun.
You did not have to rub it in that you grow yours outside year round. :P

I like the fact that a new one is born at each crenation when a leaf is laid on the soil. Wish I could grow mine outside--oh well, it's hot enough here already. B)

Terese,
Thanks! Are the leaves smooth? There is another variety that the leaves are fuzzy but more a light grey green.
Audwoman,
Your welcome on the tip! Sorry about repeating that they are growing outside & not rubbing it in honest, just saying it as a disclaimer. ^_^ Just in case someone reads and says that there plants don't do this or look like that cause they have them growing indoors. Maybe I should add it to my signature- Warning: All my plants are grown outdoors in FL zone 9B and the same results may not occur in different growing zones!

Thanks for the ID. We had that at the greenhouse & yep, sent terese some. I was guessing it wouldn't be hardy for around here but I have some growing really well outside.

I love those Sally, and would add one of those to my collection in a "heartbeat"!!!
I've been visiting the Kalanchoe and Bryophllum web-sites and there are some similar to that one, and many more.

I have read that a white plant cannot live. This has been alive for a year not growing very fast but alive.

Speaking of white leaves, and it's certainly not a Kalanchoe, my bougainvillea Raspberry sundae has developed pure white leaves on some of the branch tips. I'm waiting to see if those die back, but most likely the new shoots that would grow out below that might prove to be normal. I hope!!!

Audwoman,
Love that K. fedtschenkoi 'variegata', do the leaves change as they age so that just the edges are white like on the left side of pic plants? I have never seen an all white one and it looks just beautiful with those pink/mauve highlights, if it happens to live and spread I'd love to trade you something for a cutting or a few leaves of it.

After really looking at your pic Audwoman, it looks like you have 3 different types of K. fedtschenkoi upon researching and seeing several pics of this variety, so far have not seen the white one. The regular variety of Lavender Scallops; center of pic, the marginata 'Aurora Borealis' on the left and the albino could be variegata 'Creamed Scallops' or just an anomally 'marginata'. I would have posted the pics I found while searching around but they could not be saved to post here, guess people are tired of there pics being used and not give credit.
