I brought this at the thrift store and I want to make a semi-tipsy pot.

I am thinking buy or use one of my big round pots and anchor this above like the big pot is being watered. Now that you know what I want to do. What should I plant in it and what should I plant in the big planter below it

It is pretty big about a 14 pot size.

Cute, that's what I thought right away. It feels good to have some one ask me for a suggestion. Maybe you can put what ever plant you like even the same as in the big pot and string some small glass beads at the spout to make it look like water is clear and pouring, like a sun catcher effect. Or blue with miracle grow! Craft depts sell really cheap plastic clear beads, fool you that they are glass.

I like that bead idea, never thought of that. Think I'll try it on my antique red watering can. Problem is, can I string beads with my eyesight?:lol::lol::lol:How about Sedum Angelina Aud.

there is a new annual here called diamond frost, by proven winners...it fills in really nice, it is white, would look nice alone or intermixed with lobilea or something tall, as the dimond frost fills in around nicer tall plants.

I like the bead idea, I use to do a lot of beading..as for "can you bead with your eyesight" there are beading needles that you can use, and just poke the container with the needle and the beads will go on pretty easy.

The watering can looks like it needs an insect or butterfly in it...

I hope you will post a pic when you are finished, what a great find !

Aud, if you do the beaded water...and think youd like a beaded butterfly, or dragonfly let me know, and ill send ya one.

Wow, what a cute pot! Hard to believe someone didn't want it. That's cute. Can't wait to see what you end up doing with it. Going to have to get DBF on some of those tipsy pots. He's handy with stuff like that.

WOW thank you everyone. I have some great ideas.

Yellow I knew you would come up with something that would make it special. Like everyone said that bead idea is great.

Grindle I have never tried blue lobelia but my local nursery has a lot of that and it is a good idea.

springsprunginmy, I am definitly doing the beads. Your beaded butterfly, or dragonfly sound beautiful. I am getting excited. The darn thing only cost .99 and it seems like it is going to give me some joy.

OK, let the plant and bead shopping begin.

It wasn't really my idea..saw a hand pump that didn't work for show and that was it...I know you'll come up with some great plants..you have like every thing, so some thing new would be a happy shopping trip then digging..this time of year transplant dug up is getting tricky..I tranplanted some russian sage and ladies mantle seedling today..they could perk back up..was lucky to find them.
