Pritty cool trantuala - Spelled right? Anyway, I used to have a spider that was very similar to the looks of that trantula spider except it was black. I found it in a field near me. Don't know what type it was.

closwe Dave, Tarantula.
You say you foind a big black spider in a field near you? How big is big cos the biggest spider over here is a Tegenaria, and even thats not Tarantula size.
*There is one spider thats related to Tarantulas tho, and its black, but its very rare, and still only quite small.* Tarantulas have jaws that go up and down, unlike true spiders whose jaws go from side to side, like insects, and that rare spider I mentioned has jaws like a Tarantula, but is a lot smaller
*(Atypus affinis if youre interested)

Don't think it was one of those. I only ever saw one similar of the spider I found in wild. I have never been able to find out what it was.

Nice one! We have two of those ourselves. I guess you'll have to wait for a molt to see if spidy is a girl :)

Uh, they take a long time to molt these ones LOL

Another shot from today-I love this spider!

Notice the eyes on top of its head. When hunting food thats right in front of it it cant really see it and senses it with the vibrations the prey makes as it moves.
