I'm not seeing the high numbers I usually see here, or at least for the Asian ones in spring, and I think perhaps they're prone to dieing in really harsh winters, and the populations will drop for that summer and fall. They do winter over usually, but those actual temperatures may determine how successful they are in a particular winter!

I know where all yall's lady bugs are. At my house. In my house last summer. I was freaking out last july/august. Wondering what it meant when you had ladybugs coming in (other than that my window's must not be to tight) and me finding them all over my window sills. Good thing i like them. But, in Florida, when you are in the water and a school of fish come swimming by, and all of a sudden then stop at your feet - its usually cuz there is a baracuda or shark chasing them.and they want to hide behind you. . . So what was chasing those ladybugs in my house i ask ya.
