Here is my cat tiny. SOmeone came to our door about three or so years ago and said this kitten had been abandoned. We took her in and in that time she had three kittens to a unknown "stray" father and two were black/grayish and one whas black, ginger and brown and white but tiny sat on it hen it was just born and killed it.

Then Our second kitten "Tom" we think was scared off by tiny as it went out one day and was never seen again. Tiny and tom never got on. Finally, are last kitten "Neo" we gave to my uncle and I seem him often. Hes crazy and very fast.

This is around the only pic I can get as my cat hates cameras. I have had three cats in total:

1) A brown and black striped tabby (male) ran away
2) Blackie a cat similar to tiny (Male) also ran away
3) Tiny

seems tiny was the only cat not to run away. is it becuase she is a female? I heard its becuase that male cats cant "do the business" and get fustrated and run away, is that true?

I Have males and one female, none have run away in 8 years, and she rules the roost. Janet

Tiny is sweet. Every now and again she seems to get fat and then not soon after, gets worms and gets normal size. I think its to do with the rabbits she eats.

I still believe I see our kitten "Tom" around. I keep seeing a large black cat similar to tom, as tom had blue eyes (not that many cats do as far as I know) but don't know. There is someone that lives up the road who has an almost identical cat to tiny, but his has a slightly larger white patch on neck and paws.

Dave if your male cats weren't fixed there is a good chance they went searching for "honeys". Male cats do tend to get wanderlust but my little wild kitty that hadn't been fixed usually came back now & then.

I think your Tiny is cute. Reminds me a lot of my old kitty Streaker.

Seems to me out of say seven cats between my brothers house and mine which are sharing the same yard, only one ever chose to roam more than a house away, and recently the younger ones stay strictly in this yard nearly all the time. I guess the answer is the ol' "mating" game with both male and female unneutered cats being prone to roaming in search of mates, though my one orange tabby , who was neutered did go a few houses away in search of the best places to catch our local birds. He'd hang out under the bird feeders two houses down. I guess though even some neutered cats tend to wander a bit with their regular hunting thing being what interests them in going far ! In nature of course most wild cats have "territories< they roam to hunt in. In regards to cats running away, I'd guess if there are many unneutered males , they might tend to fight all the time til the weaker ones give up and run off. The other alternaitve I hate to mention , is in the case of abused felines, who will choose to leave over being abused, though I'm not suggesting that in your case. I do remember one neighbor who continually was replacing kittens after the other ones ran away, and can only guess those poor kitties were neglected or poorly fed, or even abused by some very young children in the home. They don't like abuse of course!

We have a neighbor like that. I wish they could keep some people from adopting pets who have shown abuse in the past. Our neighbors have probably gone through a dozen or so cats which the kids always name the same name. Most end up hit by cars, or run away because the family treats them like crap. Once the kids were hitting it with a stick in my front yard and I made them leave. The cats have figured out that our yard is a no kid zone so they love to be here :( which is horrible for the birds.

Even knowing which house they belong to we've been tempted to take them to the shelter. They might have half a chance there.

Dave,
I think your cat has a brother that was very naughty with my sweet, innocent cat, Polly! We are currently expecting kittens...

Yeh, my cat had a brother that stowed on a boat and found your area when the ship docked:lol:

There are many strays in my area. Someone once let out a black rabbit and now I see some balck rabbits at different ends of the place I live. Its sad that all these strays get let out in my area. I found a stray yellow budgie flying around I had for two years, but it died.:(
