along time ago I remember about earlier last year or the year before I grew some of my eucalypts and I learned alot about native plants as well we studied and we observed and as we did these plants became our pets as well
as we grew them from seeds we had a whole box full of seeds from all sorts of australian native plants hakea, myrtles, which are very popular my question is.... any one ever attended these sorts of classes before we have them all over australia.

I could guess, but most likely there are no such similar classes offered here most likely by any group or government agency, and if one wishes to learn more about our "natives' they must do the research themselves. I do think perhaps some of our state parks may offer some tours in some cases , which educate visitors about the various native plants they're likely to see, though nothing in depth!

We have a Master Naturalist Program which is geared towards native plants.

its good to have those sort of programs I think people should use them alot more so they can save the environment.

As boo already mentioned, I may have been premature about the "lack" of native plant programs and there may be some here somewhere!

That sounds really cool, maybe some park districts or community colleges offer some short term classes. I am going to check in my area for sure!
I'll post up if I find anything.

I think it would be great to take a class like that too. Will have to look into what we have here in West-Michigan.

I took a class a few years back called herbs for health and we learned about the native plants that we could use and how to grow them in your back yard its a way of protceting them from being lost to new homes and shopping centers with the loss of wet lands we need to learn how to protect many of our native plants it seem we lossed a lot of what our grandparents knew about native plants .I think it would be great to take a class on native plants again

yeah I see, its ussually called in melbourne that is greening australia you can watch a plant grow from a baby or seed or seedling intoa big tree and it does not take an awfull long time to grow like my eucalypts that I had grown were stunted due to soil errosion and many of my native trees grew alot bigger and much more faster it depends on what sort of soil you give the plant in the first place I think you can grow your own plants native tree turn them into a bonsai or place them in an outdoor bogg or terrerium which is cool because in 2 years they grow so darn thick and in 12 months they grow waist wise, grow eucalyptus in terreriums but you must have it outdoors and with plenty of air.
