Only its mother could love this first bug of spring. After all the rain and the cold, it was nice to be able to see some bugs today. This is a thick-headed fly.

Ew, he really isn't very attractive, but I'm sure he has his purpose. Great shot Kildale.:grin:

He may have a purpose in life but he could of been made a little more attractive.

Little more attractive? Someone once said "What's the point of a granny fly?" Well, no matter what the bug or whatever looks like, they have to like eachother for breeding.

One scientist found out that if you had this species of longwing butterfly and (it was black) and you covered the red stripes, the females would not go near them. Shows something.

seriously, that's one ugly bug...

Maybe I should be grateful all I got is spiders and aphids so far...oh wait, and whiteflies...
