I gave one of our hibiscus plants a hair cut last year, and used some of the bits as cutting material. The flowers are better on the cuttings.

I'm so upset to see your double...I had the chance to take a piece of person's grandmothers who was moving during the winter with a truck across country, to safe keep for her. I had enough that rooted, hers died on the road. It was a worst shame to not be able to give a plant back to her...mine were killed by a jealous person leaving a sun room door open on purpose where I rented.
I knew it was worth it. It will be very few before I see another, like that.

I just call it "the double one" as opposed to the other one which is "the single one". ^_^

I love that one Rich. I used to start new generations of mine for many years, but since switching "starting" mixes , they all rot for me or get fungus , which kills them.
I guess it's back to plain old peat moss mixed with perlite and or vermiculite , for a sterile mix!! I"ve gotten lazy about buying all those extra different potting mixes and such , but it's making the rooting difficult for just about all my cuttings, all of which seem to want to die!!! I still have my old "The Path" , but have a heck of a time getting it to flower with the lack of good sun , nine months out of the year indoors. They're usually "easy" yearound bloomers even indoors, provided you can give them ample bright light and or some sun.
